A review of St Pauls Eye Hospital by C. Gravenberg written on Sunday 8th of January 2012
I was referred by my local hospital as an emergency with a detached retina. I have had surgery twice so far, once under local as a day case and the second time under GA and I stayed overnight.
My experience was very positive all round. The information I was given was quite comprehensive and easy to understand. I was told what to expect in terms of recovery. The staff were very supportive in what can easily be a very frightening situation.
Another very pleasant surprise was the food - a good choice, very tasty and nicely presented - particularly as I used to work in the NHS myself until about 8 years ago.
So if anyone needs treatment there, you are in good hands!
