A review of Boots The Chemists by ANGELA CAROL MCMAHON written on Monday 4th of July 2011
This is a particulary nice memory for me about Boots on the Walton Vale.
Although I came from Calderstones in Liverpool 18 oroginally,(after I,d immigrated here with my mom and dad and sister and brother from North America)when I was 9yrs old I moved into a house in Wensley Road,Liverpool 9.
I was always making things when I was a little girl,I made a Tractor that moved from Meccano once, and I loved cooking and being healthy. My mom who had died by then had been a Doctor..So knowing that I was born in North America,I began looking up recipes from the olden days there.
Although "Boots Malt and CodLiver Oil"designed by me was not realy a North American recipe I took some ideas for it from such recipes and medicines and plants that grow there.
I made it a toffee like composition and I asked Boots if he would make it.He did and offered to pay me,as he was putting it on sale! This marked the start of my career as Top designer..for Boots and elsewhere.
I,ve been off work sick for ages now,but I,m recovering quicker everyday ..at last!Anyhow recently I remembered this medical buildup and was delighted to see,on-line that it is still on sale today.I bought some to build up my strength.
I knew the Chemist in Boots really well and fully intend to see him: when I do It will be a very memorable day for Boots in Walton Vale and for me!.
