"Memories of an ex-'Johnny boy'"

I went to St John's from 1940-1950 and over the year's that I look back, an ordinary elementary education I had there held me in good staid.

I had religious studies twice a day mostly and Benediction every Wednesday or Friday afternoon.

The teacher's beat seven bells out of me and I live to live with pain.

I love music(singing)and english lessons.

Some of the greatest Scouse comedians were my classmates and sadly a few of themm are now dead.

I enjoyed my stay most of the time. We were a poor family and we use to get food aprcels at Xmas from Bangladesh.
